Eskholme, 2 Darnholme Road, Goathland, Near Whitby
Eskholme is situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and is idealy situated for exploring the moors and attractive North Yorkshire coast along with the historic city of York.
Eskholme is a well equipped cottage with amenities for all the family and sleeps up to 8 people. It is open throughout the year and the same families come back to it time and time again over the main summer period. They are drawn by its charm and peaceful surroundings. There is an open field at the back of the house and horses, sheep, jackdaws, squirrels and rabbits are a common sight to those looking out of the kitchen window.
Our guests love walking, picnics by the stream at Darnholme, visits to the historic and picturesque town of Whitby. Visitors are often captivated by the occasional puff of steam trains climbing the steep gradient of the track from Grosmont to Goathland. Children drag their parents to view the steam trains making this ascent. Sometimes visitors simply love relaxing at the picnic table situated at the back of the house. A great relaxing holiday can be had simply by getting away from it all in and around the village of Goathland, but in the summer children will love to go to the beach or go boating on the River Esk at Ruswarp.
When the weather is not good enough to allow these things, the shops at Whitby are worth a visit. Whitby is famous for its jet, jewelry made famous by Queen Victoria. York is a great attraction with its Railway and Castle Museums and historic streets and Minster.
The 'Welcome to Yorkshire' website encourages weekend breaks but warns that a weekend is found to be too short for all there is to be seen and experienced in Yorkshire.
